I am a peon and a writer. One day, I hope to only be the latter.

What fascinations there are on this planet.

Part-time human, always trying for a twist.
Please put a rating or even better a comment – even bad ones!
While you’re here, why not read my other stories? :) -
A very strange man whose strangeness is only partially due to Asperger’s Syndrome. He is an English major and now a grad student, in case you couldn’t tell, fighting a constant struggle to set aside some little time for writing.

I write some things, I bullshit others. My age is a secret. Second class gramma ninja extraordinaire, international spy for the League of Awesomeness. Shhhhhh….
Thanks to Phil Plait of Bad Astronomy for leading me to this site.

Ficly or Die
- League of Awesomeness Oath.I spend most of my work days staring at one Excel chart or another. I am here to seek the sanctuary of words.
I love comments – leaving them and giving them.
If a piece or a challenge is good, I would like to know that you appreciated it.
If it is less than stellar, I appreciate that your comments will help me to improve. -
I’m a high school teacher in Florida. I am not a very good writer—I seem to come up with interesting ideas, but they never seem to get far.

A man who seeks refuge from boredom.
Some challenges approach! http://ficly.com/challenges/46

Introduced to Ficly by a little bird who migrated to the land of Orange, Mr. Dillard enjoys writing but is often found at odds with the time constraints of his busy life exploring the jungles of Africa. He has a fondness for grammatical exactitude as well as turning common phrases into Proper Nouns (scientists believe it to be his German ancestry). With a penchant for the dramatic and a score to settle with the Blank Page, R. E. Dillard will begin his Online Adventure here, in the land of Ficly, with hopes that, once the Writing Bug bites, he will be able to embrace the career as Literarian which he was forced to leave behind so many decades ago.

I’m an engineer, but don’t hold that against me. Expect sporadicity.

I’m 65 and have never written anything more creative than a book report in school or a memo in corporate America. My youngest daughter introduced me to ficly and the character limits are great for me, because I don’t need to have a big idea to begin.

I like to hit 1,024 exactly.

Jessica Brown is a lifelong fan of horror and dark fantasy whose work has been featured in several print anthologies. Her first novel, Teahouse, is forthcoming through Library of Horror Press.

I have a wife, two kids, a cat and a mortgage. I design and maintain websites for a living and have never considered myself a writer. I like board wargaming, drawing and I also attempt to play the trombone. Hopefully, I’m getting better.
Real writers likely to influence my writing style are Kurt Vonnegut, Arthur C. Clarke, Douglas Adams and Robert Sheckley.

I’ve been unfortunately dormant for the last few weeks (or months), so it’s your responsibility to yell at me and make me write. Yours, not mine. I’ll do the best I can, but really, it’s up to you.
If you comment my stuff, please be as nit-picky as necessary. I crave constructive criticism. Also alliteration.
If you want to start a series with me, drop a note! Remember to comment on everything, rate, and use the Random Story button at the bottom of the page.
Warning: Shameless Plug Ahead Had around 570 ficlets on the old site—you can read ’em through the link above if you like.

I am a semi-professional writer, my writings have appeared in Ray Gun Revival, Distant Worlds, and Alienskin Magazines.
I mostly write Science Fiction but I dabble in horror and and other stuff.
With the short-short challenge of this site, who knows what I will come up with. -
An Aussie infatuated, no, obsessed with spreading his artistic wings and creating whenever possible, is enjoying taking on the challenge of trying to hold a pen and write interesting stories…with wings.
-
I enjoy romantic candlelit dinners, long walks on the beach, and…wait, this isn’t eHarmony! never mind then…
Well, howdy. I’m Katie, a high school student who loves to write. So…yeah. Feel free to critique and correct and give suggestions, it’ll help me improve! Alright, ya’ll. :)

Hey I’m Clara, I love writing anything, everything, if it can be written down, I shall do the honors.
-
In my mind I can run, jump, and play. In truth I can play. I love stories with irony or clever twists. I am the Grand Poobah of the Cantankerous LoA.

I’m a high school student who is a wannabe author. I publish the prompts that I have written at SWW. I will also put up things I have written in school. I mostly like making challenges, but thats ok. I love writing prose but i’m starting to LOVE poetry if you can’t tell… I think I might be alittle better at it too. I love suggestions so if you could help me out with that I would be greatful. I can’t edit at all. I avoid it all cost. So you have been warned.
Comment on it, rate it, sequel it, prequel it, Please read it. :D
Ta-Da! -
The best thing I ever wrote was a cheesy poem-satire about unrequited chocobo love.
…Also, I can get pretty verbose sometimes. The Ficly stories are good for me because I’m making an effort not to sequel myself (and thus learning how to write leaner), but I have been blithely ignoring the 1024 char rule on comments. Um, apologies in advance for any walls-of-text. I do mean to be constructive and not merely critical, so if constructive criticism about my constructive criticism is required, please send me a note. (We comment because we care!)
(See? Verbose.)

You know that moment when you realize you’re in over your head?
“I am steeped in blood so far, that returning would be as tedious as going ahead.”

I missed this place. I missed posting. I can’t be the user that I was before, but I’m going to post. -
I have a way to go with fiction writing, and am finding Ficly challenging and inspiring… kind words are nice, but I’d be delighted to receive constructive criticism when you have it!

I want to be a high fantasy writer like Marion Zimmer Bradley or Anne McCaffrey. Unfortunately, I seem to be a spiritual fiction writer, but only for off religions. I find that my writing pours from me and I can go back and read it and have no clue what I had written till I do! When it’s forced, I can tell, and I think everyone else can too. I have an obsession with finding the right wardrobe, doorway, shadow to side step through. Faery is there, a place where all things are real, Gods are people, legends are Gods and the more people believe in them, the more power they have in reality. I hope you enjoy my stuff, even if you don’t believe. Just cause I don’t believe in faery, doesn’t mean it isn’t there, just means I can’t see it.

In ficly I’ve discovered a medium of writing that’s quick, expressive, and just restricted enough to be a wonderful challenge. I love it!
