17 year old attempting to juggle my beloved writing and A-Levels. Please be gentle =) Thought it might be time to write a proper profile piece. I’m…er…Abby. And…well…that’s me there. Somewhere to the…erm…left I think. Yup. I kind of comment on everything. I’m like a commenting freak. And … erm…this is a hell of a lot harder than I anticipated.
I’m also a geek. I’m a Trekky, Lord of the Rings addict, Star Wars fan…well I’ll sum it up by saying I love all things ComicCon. I’m an artist too. Ooh and I love history. And science. I can’t stop playing Assassin’s Creed…and Runescape. So bite me, blondies!!!
I have alcoholic tendencies =P … judgement will be met with drunken vomitting so good luck with that!
If I was religious, I think God would have kicked me out by now. Yet I still class myself as Christian, how odd.
All things truly evil come in cute packages. So don’t mess with the panda hat, OK?
Oh and I’ve written 11 books. But I can’t be bothered to publish. =S
Love ya.

Dr. Tim’s Neurotic Rules of Ficly Life
[Disclaimer: This is not intended to be binding nor in any way an expectation of general members of Ficly, league members, family members or wearers of Member’s Only jackets]
1. Comment to Story posting ratio must exceed 5:1. Goal is 10:1. In other words, I write a story then find five others (at least) upon which to comment before writing another.
2. For every solo shot or sequel of my own material, I must write a sequel or prequel to the work of another author. If I’m going easy on myself, participating in a challenge also fulfills this requirement.
3. If someone comments on one of my stories, I go find one of theirs upon which to comment. It only seems fair, and I like to think it encourages commenting.
4. Awesomeness is the goal, always. Call me on it when I fail, please.
5. Clearly mark mature content and err on the side of caution.
6. Golden Rule remains in effect for all sequels, prequels, and comments.

Well some of you will be interested to know that I’ve graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and am currently working a dead end job to pay the bills. I still spend silly amounts of money on books.
I love the music of Dashboard Confessional, Jonsi and Jimmy Eat World. I’m inspired by the works of Neil Gaiman, Diana Wynne Jones and Hayao Miyazaki. I still love Ficly :) -
I don’t comment as much as I should. My somewhat low standards prevent me from offering proper criticism, sometimes, and when I enjoy a story I typically enjoy it for the story. Pointing out flaws in your work may aid you in perfecting your skills technically, but they rarely make the experience more pleasant for me personally. I am aware that this is a selfish reason for commenting so little and I’m working on it.
That said, I greatly appreciate all comments and criticism. Though I tend to focus more on the story and less on the skill of other writer, I lack confidence and seek always to suck less.

Any criticism or advice would be greatly appreciated!

The pen is mightier than the sword. How outdated. In the 1900’s, it would have been, “The typewriter is mightier than the machine gun.” But in modern times? “The word processor is mightier than the particle-beam weapon.”
I play video games, build things with Legos, and try to kid myself into thinking that I’m mature. I love dorking around with computers and I have a strange obsession with hats – nice ones, that is, no baseball caps. My dream is to either become a Masterbuilder or a drummer, and neither seem very close. Such is life.
Since joining Ficly, I’ve come to realize that I love playing off of other people’s work, reshaping their ideas to form some coherent things. Half my stories come either from challenges or from hitting the “Random Story” button and writing a sequel (I highly recommend this, the things that you’ll find are amazing!).

J. A. Keane has spent the majority of his 18 years trying to act like a somewhat normal member of modern society, but seeing as nobody else seems to be acting normal these days (which basically makes the entire concept of “normality” redundant and nothing but a bad joke (my inner Comedian-from-Alan-Moore’s-“Watchmen” talking there)), he has decided to give up on that, and continue along his path of random offbeat-ness.
When he’s not doing that, he also likes to write long-winded rants on Tumblr, miniature rants on Twitter, medium sized rants on Facebook, and adamantly refuses to use LOLspeak (as he finds it annoying, and believes that it’s a slightly differentiated (but not THAT much, really, if you think about it) form of Newspeak).
And when he’s not doing any of that, he likes to write exaggerated biographies that are intended to make him sound more interesting than he actually is.
And after all that, he also really likes to end his website biographies on a joke.

Hey guys. What I miss?
I write my stories at 3 AM.
Ficly is nifty, you’re all cool cats.
Bring on the comments, I eat them for breakfast.
I always try to challenge myself. I often bite off more than I can chew.
I don’t rate anymore because I have concluded that I don’t know what I’m talking about. -

Seriously I can only write 1024 here too.
Well I’ve been writing for myself and others for a few years now and always seemed to either write too much or too little to make any kind of format work correctly. And when I found out about Ficly (Thank you Wil Wheaton) It seemed perfect. 4 stories in and 10 drafts in the works I know it is.
Most of my stuff is badly written I know that. But the idea’s are right.
I’ve found an editor to wrangle the words in with all the right punctuation. But proofreading and the other things that I never learned after years of English class I have yet to fix or find someone who can either keep up with my work pace or treat my babies (writing) with the right mix of punishment and respect.
I write what makes me laugh and generally only put an hour into each piece. Never expect greatness from my work just something funny or something to put a smile on your face. I write for fun never to offend.
Thank you and please enjoy.
PS I’m keeping these last 3 characters for my own HA.

That child is me and now, here I am.
I dabble in writing though I have no clue what I’m doing. But when I read, it’s like a movie in my head. And sometimes, while reading your ficly, the movie continues in my head and then I write it down, ie. sequel.
I like to write from other POVs, mainly due to my inability to focus on one character but at least it makes it interesting. Just like me. -
I like to write.

“If people never did silly things, nothing intelligent would ever get done.”
—Ludwig WittgensteinMy name is Wednesday, and I guess you could say that for the most part that quote personifies me. If there were no silliness in this world I would die.
Unfortunately, recently I have been suffering a nervous breakdown. I don’t mind saying that here. The people who know me I trust enough, and to the people I don’t – well here’s an insight. It’s not all shits and giggles on my side of the pond. Because as much as I’d like, life is not just silliness.

One of the most difficult things to say to another person is, I hope that you will love me for no good reason. But it is what we all want and rarely dare to say to one another— to our children, to our parents and mates, to our friends, and to strangers. Especially to strangers, who have neither good nor bad reasons to love us.

I’m open to any critiques, no need to whitewash it. I want to improve my writing and enjoy the flow of creative juices even if they go splat.
I joined Ficly to challange myself and break out of the writing box I’ve constructed over years of just “thinking about it” instead of expressing it through written word.
I live in Minnesota and love everything oriental including sushi and goldfish but not at the same time.

As a self-proclaimed Knight of Ficly:
I, Sir Bic, do solemnly swear -
To befriend those who befriend me
To follow those who critique me
To make my giving (my stories) but a tenth part of my gifts (my comments)
“Long live the land of Ficly!” – []o)
I strive for a 10:1, comment-to-story ratio, cause the math is easier.
I hope to have as many Ficleteer friends as I have Ficlet stories.
