Dr. Tim’s Neurotic Rules of Ficly Life
[Disclaimer: This is not intended to be binding nor in any way an expectation of general members of Ficly, league members, family members or wearers of Member’s Only jackets]
1. Comment to Story posting ratio must exceed 5:1. Goal is 10:1. In other words, I write a story then find five others (at least) upon which to comment before writing another.
2. For every solo shot or sequel of my own material, I must write a sequel or prequel to the work of another author. If I’m going easy on myself, participating in a challenge also fulfills this requirement.
3. If someone comments on one of my stories, I go find one of theirs upon which to comment. It only seems fair, and I like to think it encourages commenting.
4. Awesomeness is the goal, always. Call me on it when I fail, please.
5. Clearly mark mature content and err on the side of caution.
6. Golden Rule remains in effect for all sequels, prequels, and comments.

I’m an astronomer, blogger, author, skeptic, and a few other things. I am dabbling here for fun. And practice.

I have a picture on my desk of Toph (from Avatar: the Last Airbender) with Wolverine’s claws emerging from her hands. It’s there to remind me that I can always make my writing more awesome.

Trainee lawyer who needs to write fiction before pleadings swallow her whole.

Well some of you will be interested to know that I’ve graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and am currently working a dead end job to pay the bills. I still spend silly amounts of money on books.
I love the music of Dashboard Confessional, Jonsi and Jimmy Eat World. I’m inspired by the works of Neil Gaiman, Diana Wynne Jones and Hayao Miyazaki. I still love Ficly :) -

The pen is mightier than the sword. How outdated. In the 1900’s, it would have been, “The typewriter is mightier than the machine gun.” But in modern times? “The word processor is mightier than the particle-beam weapon.”
I play video games, build things with Legos, and try to kid myself into thinking that I’m mature. I love dorking around with computers and I have a strange obsession with hats – nice ones, that is, no baseball caps. My dream is to either become a Masterbuilder or a drummer, and neither seem very close. Such is life.
Since joining Ficly, I’ve come to realize that I love playing off of other people’s work, reshaping their ideas to form some coherent things. Half my stories come either from challenges or from hitting the “Random Story” button and writing a sequel (I highly recommend this, the things that you’ll find are amazing!).

I go places. I see people. I live.
I write a lot about myself
I just add in details to make myself look cooler.
But in reality…
I’m still pretty fucking cool. -
Fascinated and inspired by the art and power of creative writing, self-expression and interpretation. Not to mention, interested in a challenge. Ficly, I’m glad I’ve found you… (ps: I’m new to short stories).

17 year old attempting to juggle my beloved writing and A-Levels. Please be gentle =) Thought it might be time to write a proper profile piece. I’m…er…Abby. And…well…that’s me there. Somewhere to the…erm…left I think. Yup. I kind of comment on everything. I’m like a commenting freak. And … erm…this is a hell of a lot harder than I anticipated.
I’m also a geek. I’m a Trekky, Lord of the Rings addict, Star Wars fan…well I’ll sum it up by saying I love all things ComicCon. I’m an artist too. Ooh and I love history. And science. I can’t stop playing Assassin’s Creed…and Runescape. So bite me, blondies!!!
I have alcoholic tendencies =P … judgement will be met with drunken vomitting so good luck with that!
If I was religious, I think God would have kicked me out by now. Yet I still class myself as Christian, how odd.
All things truly evil come in cute packages. So don’t mess with the panda hat, OK?
Oh and I’ve written 11 books. But I can’t be bothered to publish. =S
Love ya.

Ok, I’m back. One heart attack, a triple CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, pronounced cabbage) and two sessions of beating my computer into submission. I am back.
I’m old. Real old. I’m so old I remember when dialing a phone number actually involved using a dial.
I’ve worked as a projectionist, an armored car driver, a help desk tech, a museum tech and laserist, an historical interperter at Old Sturbridge Village, a university assistant at a planetarium and observatory. I’ve been a salesman, a techie, A union VP and a storyteller. I remember the Gemini missions, but was born after sputnik. I have a love of History, Technology, Space, my religion (Christianity) and my country. I believe there is more that binds us together than can tear us apart.
I’ve loved many, married one, was involuntarily divorced.
Oh and I suppose I should tell you. I don’t understand your music and when it comes to sports, I don’t care if the Red Sox beat the 49’ers for the Stanley cup or not. Not judging, it’s just me.

An Aussie infatuated, no, obsessed with spreading his artistic wings and creating whenever possible, is enjoying taking on the challenge of trying to hold a pen and write interesting stories…with wings.

^^all of the terrible horrible tripe found on these here internets posing as entertainment that not even the authors of said entertainments can stomach for more than the nanoseconds it takes to consume the concept of the thought of viewing said entertainments – yes, my stuff is the best of that :) -
Good day!
The name’s Ed – theatre buff, pianist and proud Ficleteer…
Of course, all comments and ratings are appreciated, and I do try to do my bit as well – if you want to note me, that’s always pleasant too!
Much Love,
Mostly Harmless :) -
I’m just a guy, you know? I’m a boring guy with little to do who has always had a great interest in writing. I’ve never been able to do anything with it because I don’t seem to have any talent. I’m trying anyway. This site was shown to me by Wil Wheaton and his podcast, Radio Free Burrito and it looks like a great place to kill some time and help me improve.

I’m a student of software engineering from Lithuania. Even though my English isn’t really good, I’ll try my best and will improve it over time. I promise. If you find any mistakes in my stories, please point them out in the comments.

I’ve been a programmer for over 28 years and have somewhat geeky tendencies.
I have a love of anything Sci-Fi: movies, books, TV, etc. I really enjoy Japanese manga and animé, Ghost in the Shell series being my all-time favorite.
I love music and have a large collection of songs from a wide variety of styles, everything from Classical to Heavy Metal. I enjoy karaoke and sing every weekend at a favorite club.
During the summer, you’ll find me either in the pool or doing something on or around the lake. I’ve loved water my entire life.

I’m a husband and father living in Austin, Texas and hustling every day to help others. I own ImageStudios.tv where I do photography, design and writing.
