Once I wrote, and it was a gas; soon found out I had a brain of glass. Plotting is hard- soon did I find that detail’s the devil, striking me blind. Now I try, try to take it easy writing small and fine, build the plots up slowly and we’ll be divine, so one day, I say, that Big Damn Novel will be OK.

What defines a writer? Is it someone who can put a few words together to make a sentence, or is it someone who writes with professional English skills?
I don’t know, I am only 13 and therefore don’t know much about writing techniques but I do know that every word I do write that is to do with stories, poems or plays – from Shakespeare essays to descriptive writing- I love. :)
I hope you like my stories and if not have fun writing your own,

Fascinated and inspired by the art and power of creative writing, self-expression and interpretation. Not to mention, interested in a challenge. Ficly, I’m glad I’ve found you… (ps: I’m new to short stories).

Goals as a commenter:
1. Comment/Ficlet ratio = 5:1
2. Provide consistent feedback
3. Provide feedback to lightly commented ficlets
4. Comment on unfinished drafts.
Goals as a writer:
1. Fully convey an emotion or idea (don’t force the reader to read a prequel or sequel to enjoy the writing)
2. Explore diverse formats (human interest, comedy, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, etc.)
3. Original Work /(Sequel + Prequel + Challenge) ratio = 1:1
4. Crowd-source writer’s block – publish unfinished drafts.

As a self-proclaimed Knight of Ficly:
I, Sir Bic, do solemnly swear -
To befriend those who befriend me
To follow those who critique me
To make my giving (my stories) but a tenth part of my gifts (my comments)
“Long live the land of Ficly!” – o)
I strive for a 10:1, comment-to-story ratio, cause the math is easier.
I hope to have as many Ficleteer friends as I have Ficlet stories.
“Give me Ficly or give me death!” – o)

Married middle age suburban steampunk medieval pop culture gaming geek.
I came here when I considered posting to a NYT article asking for a 150-word noir intro, and it reminded me of a ficlet I wrote awhile ago that I never got around to posting until it was too late. It didn’t feel right for that, so I decided to post it here instead as my first story. I like the format here, and i’m looking forward to popping in from time to time. Thanks!

A fan of pen-and-paper writing, I fall into the category of the humble- the tub full of handwritten pages sitting in my closet can attest to the amount of practice I’ve placed into this craft, but other than that I have little else to show for what talent I know I possess.
But I feel the mental razor has dulled over the years and this might whet my appetite for creative fiction- though the ideas have never stopped coming the very pleasure of the act I feel needs to be regained.

Kicking it at the University of Oklahoma. I like writing, science, almost all forms of music (literally), creating constructed languages, graphic/visual arts, and a good book. I will not hesitate in saying I am a Christian and I am proud to be an American.

I enjoy writing, regardless of how good I am at it. it also represents, for me, a pleasant outlet of excess emotion. this is why a fair bit of my work is not the happiest of content. however, I also write for enjoyment when I do not need to vent my feelings so I hope you can find something which takes your interest in the stories I write.
PLEASE prequel or sequel if you feel the inspiration. I LOVE seeing different interpretations of my work and new takes on my somewhat over-explored themes.
