Goals as a commenter:
1. Comment/Ficlet ratio = 5:1
2. Provide consistent feedback
3. Provide feedback to lightly commented ficlets
4. Comment on unfinished drafts.
Goals as a writer:
1. Fully convey an emotion or idea (don’t force the reader to read a prequel or sequel to enjoy the writing)
2. Explore diverse formats (human interest, comedy, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, etc.)
3. Original Work /(Sequel + Prequel + Challenge) ratio = 1:1
4. Crowd-source writer’s block – publish unfinished drafts.

Always feel free to write sequels or prequels to my stories. I love reading where other writers take my ideas.
I was born in 1961 (old codger). I started writing for fun over Christmas 2011. I was recommended Ficly by a friend (thanks, Malc!). Done a few crazy things in my time (and a few sensible ones…like marrying Jan and fathering my three daughters).
Amongst the crazier ones are: appearing in Robot Wars (UK series 3); recording an album; having 5 wisdom teeth removed (yes 5!); meeting the drummer from Split Enz at his home in New Zealand and buying a fuzzbox he designed…

Once I wrote, and it was a gas; soon found out I had a brain of glass. Plotting is hard- soon did I find that detail’s the devil, striking me blind. Now I try, try to take it easy writing small and fine, build the plots up slowly and we’ll be divine, so one day, I say, that Big Damn Novel will be OK.

Ello, I’m 15. Iris is the name I like to be called, and I love to write about everything dark in my life to turn it into something beautiful. I’d like to believe that I’ve been in love or something like it, but I have especially felt a lack of it. Much of my life was drenched in darkness that I’ll never be able to forget; I am young, but I feel so tired and as though my life has been so long and black. But, tis in the past now, and all I can do is keep living and hope that one day things in my life might change for the better. I am a proud supporter of gay rights and human’s right to believe how ever it is they wish.
I love writing, music, books, anime, and stimulating conversation. My name is Iris and I am alone.

My name is Rachel. I’m from NC and I love writing. I’m not good at this kind of thing because it takes me three pages to explain an idea. So I’m hoping to expand my limits with this website(:
Thank you for your criticism!

I write poetry. Just poetry. One thing I’m trying to do is write about acts, things, people. Instead of emotion, mostly because I’m just tired of it.
I never quite know how to comment on stories , seeing as I don’t have a firm grasp of what’s involved. If I try and look silly, well, sorry.
But anyway. I write because I love it. Not because I’m good at it, or looking for praise, just because I love it.

Kicking it at the University of Oklahoma. I like writing, science, almost all forms of music (literally), creating constructed languages, graphic/visual arts, and a good book. I will not hesitate in saying I am a Christian and I am proud to be an American.

I love to write. One of my life goals is to write a novel, but right now work, church, and family take up most of my spare time. This site helps me scratch that writing itch that pops up occasionally.
My policy is quid pro quo. If you follow me, I will follow you. It’s as simple as that! I’m all about building the community.
Want to write something with me? Send me a note! I’m up for pretty much anything.

I am The Blue Sparrow (haha remember that ::takes out sword:: hehe) I am a ficlets survivor and I am very glad to be back.
I am a helpless romantic that stumbled into Ficlets and fell in love with writing. I also fell in love with the family that I came to know on that site. I seemed to grow as a writer more and more and my grades in my english class shot up.
Now in college I try to find time to write even though now it seems like my writing time is consumed by technical research papers. I have changed a lot since I stumbled into Ficlets, but cute sweet poetry is a still a part of my life.
I am in LoA as The Holder of the Blue Crayon of Destiny (see my icon :] )

Jeez, when I learned that Ficlets had returned I literally screamed at the top of my lungs. And it came up right at the perfect time: the beginning of summer! That’s all I can really say right now….YAY!!! Oh! And I almost forgot to mention that back in the old Ficlets (RIP) I was Ezzie.
Oh and the profile pic of mine…isn’t mine!! I did not draw it whatsoever. I just loved the picture sooo dang much. Here’s the link to it: http://xiaocaca.deviantart.com/art/The-Bright-and-Cavernous-Mind-135580650

I’m Band Baby, and I am one of the original Ficleteers =D Or a Ficlets Survivor or what ever you would like to call me =) I’m also part of the LoA, where I am known as the Sweet Darlin’ of Awesomeness. Please comment and critique. I’m here to grow as a writer, and that is what I intend to do.
I also have met a great many friends through Ficlets and I hope Ficly can live up to and surpass all of Ficlet’s former glory. =)
Note me if you want to do a series or anything =)

Ficly, Ficly, Ficly.
I can’t wait to endeavor into your boundless grasps of thoughts and proceedings of Ficly writers’ absurd rantings.
I’m OTOC; you may (or may not?) have encountered me from the previous site, Ficlets.
I’d like to think I’ve improved, but that’s not up to me. I can only record my growth through your (yes, YOUR!) feedback – of which I crave.
If you’re as lame and strange as I am, we’ll get along incredibly.
I’m in the LoA – but I can’t, for the life of me, remember what my title MoA stands for. Something-of-Awesomeness, for sure.
For whatever reason, you’ll likely find me writing more poems than stories.
“Because with you and me writing, 1024 characters is a sentence, not a story.”
I love vocabulary.
And Icy Tea.
Is it lame that I think I have the honor of being friends with so many people?

Dr. Tim’s Neurotic Rules of Ficly Life
[Disclaimer: This is not intended to be binding nor in any way an expectation of general members of Ficly, league members, family members or wearers of Member’s Only jackets]
1. Comment to Story posting ratio must exceed 5:1. Goal is 10:1. In other words, I write a story then find five others (at least) upon which to comment before writing another.
2. For every solo shot or sequel of my own material, I must write a sequel or prequel to the work of another author. If I’m going easy on myself, participating in a challenge also fulfills this requirement.
3. If someone comments on one of my stories, I go find one of theirs upon which to comment. It only seems fair, and I like to think it encourages commenting.
4. Awesomeness is the goal, always. Call me on it when I fail, please.
5. Clearly mark mature content and err on the side of caution.
6. Golden Rule remains in effect for all sequels, prequels, and comments.

“If people never did silly things, nothing intelligent would ever get done.”
My name is Wednesday, and I guess you could say that for the most part that quote personifies me. If there were no silliness in this world I would die.
However, I guess it’s not all shits and giggles on my side of the pond. Because as much as I’d like, life is not just silliness.

is by no means a waste of time.

The pen is mightier than the sword. How outdated. In the 1900’s, it would have been, “The typewriter is mightier than the machine gun.” But in modern times? “The word processor is mightier than the particle-beam weapon.”
I play video games, build things with Legos, and try to kid myself into thinking that I’m mature. I love dorking around with computers and I have a strange obsession with hats – nice ones, that is, no baseball caps. My dream is to either become a Masterbuilder or a drummer, and neither seem very close. Such is life.
Since joining Ficly, I’ve come to realize that I love playing off of other people’s work, reshaping their ideas to form some coherent things. Half my stories come either from challenges or from hitting the “Random Story” button and writing a sequel (I highly recommend this, the things that you’ll find are amazing!).

Hey. I’m Jenni. I’m a college student, studying AS French, AS History (tudors), AS Sociology, AS Health and Social Care and AS General Studies. I wanted to take Creative Writing as a complimentary course but it clashed with my other subjects! So here I am, having fun doing what I love. Well most of it. Becasue I love singing most of all, but I’m usually singing anyway! I am also the ultimate bookworm. Let me know if you want to do a series! Eeeeeeeee! Over and Out!

J. A. Keane has spent the majority of his 19 years trying to act like a somewhat normal member of modern society, but seeing as nobody else seems to be acting normal these days (which basically makes the entire concept of “normality” redundant and nothing but a bad joke (my inner Comedian-from-Alan-Moore’s-“Watchmen” talking there)), he has decided to give up on that, and continue along his path of random offbeat-ness.
When he’s not doing that, he also likes to write long-winded rants on Tumblr, miniature rants on Twitter, medium sized rants on Facebook, and adamantly refuses to use LOLspeak (as he finds it annoying, and believes that it’s a slightly differentiated (but not THAT much, really, if you think about it) form of Newspeak).
And when he’s not doing any of that, he likes to write exaggerated biographies that are intended to make him sound more interesting than he actually is.
And after all that, he also really likes to end his website biographies on a joke.
