While working at AOL, I was a part of the team that built Ficlets along with Kevin, Cindy, Jenna, and Ari. When AOL decided to shut our baby down, I contacted Kevin and got the ball rolling on Ficly. I’m more a musician and photographer than an author, but I love storytelling and the art of writing.
We continue to have a ton of fun working on this site and building the community, so thank you all for participating and let us know how we can make it better!

This time, it’s mostly Jason’s fault. He’s the one who convinced me that we couldn’t just leave well enough alone. He got the designers to donate their time, and wrote all the HTML, CSS and 95% of the javascript. I did the models and controllers. Nope, we couldn’t just let it go. We had to try it again.

Not much to say about me really. I write. I play music. I write music. And I enjoy reading Ficly-Stories.I’ve been writing since high-school – which was so long ago, we walked to school in 4ft of snow with no shoes on and bread at the store cost a penny… ok.. .25 cents.. but i was able to get 10 candies for 5 cents.
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AND WON NANOWRIMO 2008, by writing a novel over 60,000 words long called: Amethyst: Outer-Rim based on a ficlets series written here!

I’ve been unfortunately dormant for the last few weeks (or months), so it’s your responsibility to yell at me and make me write. Yours, not mine. I’ll do the best I can, but really, it’s up to you.
If you comment my stuff, please be as nit-picky as necessary. I crave constructive criticism. Also alliteration.
If you want to start a series with me, drop a note! Remember to comment on everything, rate, and use the Random Story button at the bottom of the page.
Warning: Shameless Plug Ahead Had around 570 ficlets on the old site—you can read ’em through the link above if you like.

I design interesting stuff for interesting people.
I did the visual design for Ficly and over the course of working on this project with Jason and Kevin I have fallen in love with the simplicity and spirited nature of what Ficly is. Glad to be a part of it.

Why, hello there. The name is Keegan and hopefully this life sparks new ideas, if it does anything at all.
I love the feeling I get when I emerge myself in thought to understand something. That battle with my mind is so straining, yet so fulfilling. And when I finally get it, when it clicks, oh sweetie, I’m happy for days.
Anyway, I love photography and writing. Hi.

Here for the time being…

Beneath the regular writers sits a young girl, pen trembling in her hand. She tries to put words on paper, but nothing comes out but painfully choppy verse. She drops the pen, looking up at the regulars in their creative glory. She sees many people she’d take a bullet for, but cannot stifle the envy toward. She remembers when she was a shining example of what a writer should be, but that time is long since gone. She lays her notebook down and draws her legs under her, praying for inspiration.
Feedback makes my heart race.

My name is Never Explain, and I was an original Ficleteer before the creation of this wonderful site.
I usually post any current series that I’m in, but seeing as I’m just getting started again, I don’t have much!
NOTICE TO ALL OF MY FELLOW FICLYTEERS: Feel free to sequel any of my stories. Not only do I not mind it, I WELCOME IT! It is a creatively free world and if you want to add to something of mine feel free, I’d love to see what you’ve written!!

Hey everyone!
So glad that Ficly finally up. I’m suprised to see a character count on the bio but that’s cool. I’ve missed this SO much, you wouldn’t believe. But then again, all my fellow Ficleteers would believe because you all know what it felt like to be a part of that great community. Hopefully, we can all build something just as good, maybe even better, than Ficlets. Now a bit about myself. I have just about graduated from high school and will be attending the University of Florida this fall. This is a new and exciting and scary expeirence for me and I can’t wait for it to start. I’m hoping to find some new inspiration for some new material.
Feel free to comment, sequel, prequel, send me a note (wait, can we still do that?) or whatever. I love getting feedback.
I apoligize ahead of time for my random comments. I just can’t help commenting sometimes. Its a sickness :)
I also have a ranting problem. I can go on and on and on and on. If it bothers you, I’m very sorry. I just can’t help it.
Enjoy

______________________…Oh my friend, how
you were mother for me, and how
I could let myself lean on you
comfortable as an old cloth, familiar as enamel saucepans
I was a child again, pyjamaed
in winceyette, my hair plaited, and you
listened, you soothed me like cakes and milk
you listened to me for three days, and I poured
it out, I flowed all over you
like wine, like oil, you touched the place where it hurt
at night we slept together in my big bed
your shoulder eased me towards dreams…Michele Roberts
One of the most difficult things to say to another person is, I hope that you will love me for no good reason. But it is what we all want and rarely dare to say to one another— to our children, to our parents and mates, to our friends, and to strangers. Especially to strangers, who have neither good nor bad reasons to love us.

From Wikipedia:
Russell “Rusty” Awkward was born in 1934 in New York, NY, the son of Michael and Elena Awkward. From a young age, he showed an interest in the Broadway musicals his father acted in and his mother costumed for. At the age of 18, however, he rebelled against his parents and their industry of choice by writing the one-act play Pay No Attention To The Man In Front Of The Curtain, a biting critique of Broadway.
At twenty-one, leaving New York for Los Angeles, he disappeared for two years, the events of which went unknown until the 1971 autobiographical novel Midwest Purgatory: A Stalled Travelogue. After finally arriving in LA in 1958, he wrote and produced a string of plays which received moderate critical acclaim but poor ticket sales before disappearing into obscurity. His current location is unknown.

Read, Rate, Comment, Sequel.
That’s my ficly mantra.
Also, that’s the way I roll.
In my opinion, there’s no better compliment than offering an unsolicited sequel to someone else’s story. I think inspired, good-hearted sequels are more breathtaking than the best comments and ratings will ever be.
I joined the League of Awesome. From this point, I shall be known as the Awestruck Ambassador of Awesome.

A former Ficleteer. Now, I am a Ficly acolyte – a Ficlyte, if you will. (You can thank uselessness for that term!)
