Let’s see… my name is Chris, I’m 30 and a male type person. I really only write for my own amusement and hopefully for the amusement of others. I’m my own worst critic. I’ve never been one to have… well… any confidence in anything I do. I’m kind of a nerd sometimes. I love music. I compose it occasionally too, but again there’s that whore “own worst critic” thing. I also suffer from an anxiety disorder which… well, sucks as you can imagine. I am, however, nice and friendly and tend not to mind befriending new people.

Stories

  1. Ctiülüo is Summoned

“Hädia Ctiülüa siäked änt havied do kis havlul liv Ralio” chanted the monks as they stood around the fire. They were summoning a great beast. They knew not what they were about to unleash on the world, but still they went on. It was a ...

  2. Lionel and Lewis (An Excerpt)

The sky was gloomy and there was the slightest hint of drizzle falling from the sky. Lionel sat on a stone bench in the cemetery and pulled a small silver flask out of his trench coat as a few people dressed in black holding umbrellas passed by him. He...

  3. For Grandpa...

I didn’t really understand at first why it was such a big deal. It was just a language that nobody used anymore. Well, virtually nobody. Nobody I knew under the age of fifty anyway. For all intents and purposely it wasn’t just a dying langu...

  4. Writing Class with Mr. Stitely

“How do you open a door creatively?” Mr. Stitely asked looking over the top of his glasses. Hands shot up in the air. Well… gingerly moved upward, but the fact that any hand at all went up aside from Rhonda Fortson’s in the fron...

  5. Birthday, Minus the Happy

Scott peered over his Dora the Explorer birthday cake. A cake that was not only drenched with rain from freak storm, but also was not the one he wanted. Somewhere in the background a fire extinguisher went off. Scott glared over the five candles in his...

  6. A Big Blue Stereotype

At the corner of my street sat a stereotype. A large blue house with a yard full of weeds and unmowed grass. It was littered with old, yellowed baseballs, sun faded frisbees that were once brightly colored, and a football or two that had long since los...

  7. Terribly Sorry... I Guess...

It’s been a long time coming, but I had to tell you that I’m sorry… I guess. I’m sorry that I didn’t realize what was really going on. I’m sorry that I let you in. I’m even sorry that I let you know how big of ...

  8. Dan & Melanie

“I just don’t see any point in lying to you.” he said bluntly. She was taken aback a little. She had become so used to lies and deception from the men in her life that this just didn’t seem to compute at first. She stared off bl...

  9. Sounds Easy Enough...

“Things to do…” he said to himself, trailing off slightly as he finished writing. “Number one…find… secret… pirate… treasure.” He glanced over his shoulder at the armchair in the corner, which sat a...

  10. Honey, I Traded the Cow...

“Honey! I traded the cow for something awesome!” Stanley said as he returned home. His wife gave him an exasperated look as she had long ago realized she’d married beneath her intellectually. “For the love of…” she m...

  11. And On The 8th Day...

“Dear God, what is that?” “What do you mean?” “I mean that thing that’s on your head.” “Oh, this? Pope hat.” “I… I don’t think most papal hats have naked women on them.” R...

  12. A Delivery for Samuel

A knock at the door awoke Samuel from his slumber. He swept the Sandman’s dust from his eyes and groggily kicked off the covers and removed himself from his warm bed. There was another rap on the door. “Again with the knocking…”...

  13. San Lucas at Night

It was almost night at the San Lucas outpost just outside of Los Gorriónes, a small, dusty town on the edge of the frontier. The occasional buzzard could be seen circling the open lands in search of supper. The air was tense. Father Michael thumbed th...

  14. Hadlén's Grief

It had seemed to Hadlén like only seconds had passed, possibly minutes but no greater measure of time than that. Much time had passed however and soon the dawn would be breaking over the Hills of Symol that lay on the horizon. His fellow clerics had l...

  15. Hadlén and the Pyre

Hadlén looked over the funeral pyre with a vacant stare. Stars twinkled above his head. He’d thought to himself before that the stars looked like they were the tears of the angels while a funeral pyre was burning, but that he was never struck wi...
