My Challenge Is Better Than Yours

This challenge has ended!

This Challenge can be hard or it can be easy. At this point I’m not really sure. The Idea for this one came to me from a game we played in Drama class.

Your challenge is to use these two sentences in a Ficly (Ficlet? Ficlyette??):

“My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.”

“They’re like, its better than yours.”

You can combine these two sentences or you can use them separately, but both of them have to be in the same story. Variations of the second sentence are acceptable.

Have Fun!

  1. Avatar AccidentalRob|LoA|

    Looks like it’s just “stories”.

  2. Avatar ALRO613 (LoA)

    i finally played.

  3. Avatar One Time, One Chance

Ficlyts – I like that idea! Let’s go with that, eh?

  4. Avatar OrangeOreos (LoA)

Personally, I say ficlies. But whatever everyone chooses is fine with me.

  5. Amj Lone Writer

    Ficlyts is great :p

  6. Avatar Kevin Lawver

I’m not proud of my entry… Ok, yes I am. I’m pretty proud that I got the two phrases in there, a German protagonist and zombies into less than 1,024 characters.

  7. Avatar Kevin Lawver

We borrowed the word “ficlets” from the fan fiction community so I think we’re OK using it to describe the stories. We just couldn’t use the brand name. Personally, I don’t care what we call them… but I like “stories”.

  8. Avatar penguincaptain

I like Ficlyts. Its almost honoring our old home :)

  9. Avatar uselessness

Stupid me, I was thinking of a name for people who write Ficlies. Or whatever. Actually I see “Ficly” as an adjective describing the word “fic,” which should maybe be the name we use. It does, after all, aptly connotate shortened fiction. ;-)

  10. Avatar uselessness

I nominate “Ficlytes,” like acolytes. Once you say it a couple times, it rolls off the tongue.

  11. Avatar wytherwings

I like the ficlyts idea =D

  12. Avatar Oy

Flechettes would be an awesome name :-)

  13. Avatar blusparrow (LoA)

Lol… i vote for ficlyts then pronouncing it ficlets. but im gonna enter this because guess what, I gotssss an idea!!!

  14. Avatar .:Band Baby:.

i say “Ficlyts” and pronounce it “ficlets”

and i like the challenge LW, but it is a challenge.

  15. Avatar Stovohobo

I will still call them ficlets; as for what they’re officially called to avoid lawsuits, I can’t say.

(Also like the discussion idea for challenges, and of course the entire page devoted to challenges. Thanks, Kevin!)

  16. Avatar ALRO613 (LoA)

    “Ficlyts” maybe a good description??
Should we coin that or what?

Want to join in the fun? Of course you do!
