Ficly

Hidden Objects

I had 14 great aunts and uncles on my fathers side. I knew and loved them all and each had a hand in making me who I am today. You would never know it, visiting my home, but I have a little piece of each one in the form of a useful every day object:

S&P Shakers, Kitchen Timer, Sieve, Dutch Oven, Lamp, Knife, Level, Screwdriver, Frame, Recipe box, Fishing Creel, Wooden Clothes Pins and Reading Glasses; all useful memorials.

What did you choose or receive? Maybe an inherited warp drive? Advice? A transplanted organ? Do you have a “secret” item?

Only ONE rule; it has to be something useful and used. It could be fiction or non. The body of your story can be anything but it must contain reference to a thing you received, tangible or intangible, from a long ago loved one and usable, as in functional.

Give worth to something that, if the story untold, wouldn’t get noticed at all.

Have a Ficly fun time!
