Dear John
This challenge has ended!
Dear Ficly,
Its no good – I can’t go on like this. The passion is gone. I’ve seen the way you look at those other authors. You don’t love me, and its time for me to take a stand and make you admit it.
Yours forever,

Breakups are hard – breaking up in a letter is even harder. Breaking up in 1024 characters could be described as downright harsh. But better get on and get it over with!
Bonus points for crass, insensitive authors; cries of anguish, interesting or unusual break-up reasons, or anything just a bit different….
(Note – it doesn’t have to be mature content, but I’ve marked it that way in case you feel like it).

This was a tough one – there’s some very good writing here!
I particularly liked the angle many of the tales took – the protective Mom, the brash Hick, even the necrophiliac! But I chose Taking Leave in the end as it fits in most closely to that sad desperate feeling that I always associate with these kind of letters – letters that people feel forced to write, to get everything out in the open, but without being in the right frame of mind to gain anything from the writing.
Thanks to all for your wonderful stories!

So I was talking rubbish – I’ve only just remembered to get round to this! I’ll be reading the stories today and hopefully picking a winner soon!

I’ve been away for the weekend, but will make sure I get all the entries read before the deadline. Apologies if I don’t comment on all of them – I often find it hard to comment for comments sake without worrying I’m being over-critical. Maybe when I’ve written enough stories to gain a name for myself… ;)

There we are. Not revolutionary, but it’s there.

I don’t suppose you can take already-written stories and submit them to a challenge.
Because I’ve actually already written one.
Want to join in the fun? Of course you do!
