Can’t stop.

Turn right. Down the alley.
NO!
BACK TO THE STREET!
Stay in the lights.
Why are all the houses dark? Why isn’t anybody home?

I don’t recognize anything.
I don’t know where I left my truck.
I don’t know what I hit.

I don’t know what’s chasing me.
-
Tried calling for help. No answer.
Tried pounding on doors. No answer.
Haven’t seen a single other car drive by, or person out for a walk, or even a stray cat or squirrel.

Have to keep running.
I can hear them. Chasing me.
Can’t see them, but I can hear them.
They’re getting closer.

Haven’t I already been down there?
Every street here looks the same.
There has to be a way out. A way back to the main road. With other cars, other people.
Just keep running. Left. GO!

Is that a light on in that house?
HEY! HELP!
THERE’S SOMETHING CHASING ME!

    Good horror stream of consciousness piece, although it starts to weaken in the last third – considering that there was a really interesting, intriguing ambiguity to most of it, the last paragraph was a little cliched… Good, could be REALLY good if tweaked :)

    Thanks for the feedback! I have to agree with you about the ending; I had a hard time figuring out how to wrap the story up. I’ll probably take another crack at it again in the future, either as a sequel or new project.

    Suspenseful, bu I agree, the suspense quickly died down.
