I look at the lifeless figure sprawled out on the floor, then back at the gun in my hand. Suddenly, I realize the magnitude of my previous actions. My heart is beating so strongly that I feel it might pop out of my chest. Sweat has spread all over my body, making me feel even more repulsive. Then I take a deep breath, sucking in as much air as possible. I have to get out of the house before anyone comes home.
That’s when I hear the footsteps coming up the stairs, it’s too late. This is the only room upstairs, there’s no way the person they won’t find me. Then I hear a second pair of feet, now there are two of them.
I only have one bullet left. I put the gun up to my head. I only have one option.
