A higher power than your own

“My name is Isyldor, welcome to Paradise.”

“If this is paradise,” Karesh thought, “where is my family? Where is my father? Shouldn’t he be here?”

As if reading his thoughts, Isyldor continued, “This may not be the paradise you were expecting, no your loved ones are not here. They have been sent away.”

The crowd started to get confused, if their loved ones were not in Haljiah like our religious leaders told us, then everything Karesh was taught was complete garbage.

Isyldor ignored the growing concern and continued, “You have been chosen for a special gift. You, out of all of your race, are special to us. You shall become like us. Our time on this plane is nearly done, you shall exalt to a higher power than your own. The day of reckoning is at hand.”

“Reckoning?” Karesh thought. “What Reckoning? What was he talking about?”

“The day our forefathers told us. As one generation falls and is punished, another shall rise and take it’s place.”

Punishment? Karesh did not like the sound of that.
