Heroes don’t always fly…

I know a girl who is a warrior. Not many of us can claim that status…but this girl is a leader among warriors. Someone who knows what she wants out of life and will fight until she gets it.

When I was a little girl, I used to think that a hero was someone who could climb walls, turn invisible, and had a sidekick named Lois Lane. But as one of my good friends told me – heroes don’t always fly.

This superhero may only be a teen-aged girl, but don’t let that fool you.
She is a writer.
A thinker.
A dreamer.
Child of night and daughter of morning.
A friend.
A sister.
But most of all, just a girl getting through life any way she possibly can.
And that’s pretty darn remarkable.

She has every cause to give up, and yet, she still comes out fighting. And she always will.

Yeah, heroes don’t always fly.
