If you’re gonna ask her out, just do it already. We’re sick of hearing about it.
Randy wasn’t entirely honest with Tyler. Yes, he and his friends were sick of hearing Tyler talk about Liz at lunch, but at least that was a break from all the skateboarding talk. Really though, he wanted Tyler to ask Liz out because he thought it might be… good for her. After all, she sat right next to him, and he couldn’t remember ever seeing her smile. All she did in class was doodle skulls in her notebook. (He’d warned Tyler about the skulls. Tyler thought it was cool.)
Maybe it was just that he and Liz were too alike, and if she could be happy? Well. He knew what it was like to want to disappear sometimes, and it seemed like she was mastering the art of invisibility. Tyler, with his mix of mellow energy, would certainly change that.
After class, just ask her if she likes skateboarding, or skulls, or something. Make a move.
He dropped the note on Tyler’s desk on his way to the pencil sharpener.
