Monkeys? No, I’ve already covered animals.

Androids? Too Lame. Not saying robots are lame of course.

Volcanoes? Hmm… has potential.

So many weeks of finger tapping and empty, fruitless thoughts. Nonsense flutters in and out of my mind taking me nowhere. Cliches and typicalities plague me.

Locked inside me, I know that there is potential that has as of yet been completely untapped. The key is to, well, find the key and release it all in a creative surge of awesomeness.

Perhaps I’ve raised my standards too high? Can’t be. I’m writing this aren’t I?

No I’m going to blame all those ‘choose your own adventure’ stories. They’ve rotted my brain.

There are plenty of ways to deal with writers block, you just have to find one that works for you.

Writing about writers block is a good tactic.

  2. Avatar The Third Robot

I know, it helped me write a whole bunch of warblgharbl just now.

  3. Avatar Robert Quick

I always die when I choose my own adventure. Unless I cheat.

  4. Avatar H.S. Wift

I empathise, I hadnt written a story in days, and it wasnt until I wrote a new one, and I got rated a 4, that I realised why. Id got rated top marks before I left, and I was afraid anything I wrote wouldn’t live up to it. A great story that connected with me.

  5. Avatar The Third Robot

I know, lately I’ve been doing so well. And then I just stopped because my ideas weren’t perfect enough.

Now I’ve told myself to stop caring and I write what I want.

  6. Avatar Scrawler's Secret

I’ve had a long run in with writer’s block myself. The worst part is that every fiber of you WANTS to write soemthing.

Oh I know about writer’s block. I’ve been absent from Ficly for a while now, and Monsieur Writers B. Lock can be thoroughly blamed.

I’ve read a lot of writers block stories, so they’ve lost some of the initial novelty, but this was still quite good… MH :)
