At the beach [poem]

Avatar Author: Ana Cristina Writer, teacher, & hopeless romantic with a penchant for falling for fictional characters. Read Bio

At the beach I watch seagulls
Flirt with gravity.
I can feel all my problems fading
As I lift my face to receive the sun.

I sink toes into seemingly bottomless sand
And contemplate what it means
To be meaningless —
Just another grain in the hourglass of time.

There is no past or future here,
Only the intangible present.
Close your eyes.
Feel the swell of ocean tide draw you near.

    Beautifully sweet, gorgeously simple.

It surprises me not that you are an English teacher, as your command of the usage of words is exquisite. This is very sensuous and descriptive, purely lovely.

  3. Avatar Mr. Reeses

I always love your work, and your sensual usuage of words…. (if that made sense)
