Hunted

Joni closed the door very quietly and waited.
Since he entered the room he felt something wrong, something was different and he didn’t like it. Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted “You know…”, a cold voice came out from somewhere in the darkness, “…cowards die many times before their death…”, but Joni immediately silenced the voice saying “But the valiant never taste of death but once!”. These words, which his father repeated to him so often, were probably the only legacy the parent left him. Joni never understood really that strange inheritance, but it seemed to hunt him.

From darkness came out a man laughing and when Joni saw his figure all his fears took a shape. He understood that his escape was ending, but he wouldn’t give in, not yet, so Joni said: “Your hunting now ends, you can come back to your senders and tell them I’m no more a problem, you don’t have to kill me”. “Nobody sent me…” the man answered " … I’ve come to reclaim what is mine. And you, Joni, are mine!"
