The Emerald Hall

The grand emerald doors opened a snatch, allowing a stream of yellowish light to scatter across the floor.
The munchkin secretary looked up at the sound before knocking on the desk and saying, “The Wizard will see you now.”

The four changed characters looked at each other with a distant familiarity, as if they couldn’t quite remember each other. They slowly made their way towards the emerald doors, the Lion just about fitting through the gap.

As each entered the emerald hall their eyes widened in wonder. The lights were yellow, even through their green-tinted spectacles, and reflected in every surface, filling the room with immeasurable beauty.

At the far end of the hall there was a privacy screen, behind which they knew sat their intended host. A deep voice filled the room, projecting from a gramophone next to a door on the East Wall.

“Remove your glasses and approach. Come together, for your paths are forever linked, and I will hear your request.
