Yesterday, Someone...

Avatar Author: Tad Winslow "If you don't work nothing will." Maya Angelou Read Bio

Yesterday,
Someone gave birth.

Yesterday,
Someone gripped the sound of feet on the ground.

Yesterday,
Someone neglected their worth.

Yesterday,
Someone lost in the night was porch light found.

-

Yesterday,
Someone fed their soul with the break of dawn.

Yesterday,
Someone was disposed of by a corrupt nation.

Yesterday,
Someone led a soldier to where his friend had gone.

Yesterday,
Someone was minisculed by the shadow of mitigation.

-

Yesterday,
Someone sold a child dope.

Yesterday,
Someone drifted away unaware.

Yesterday,
Someone tightened their mental rope.

Yesterday,
Someone undressed their mind and spoke it in the bare.

This is a scary poem, Tad. Too morbid for me.

    Yesterday,
    Someone fell in love.

    Yesterday,
    Someone laid bare their soul.

    Yesterday,
Someone rose in peace to the Heavens above.

    Yesterday,
    Someone reached their ultimate goal.

    Not so hard, right?
But I guess it’s all true. Truth hurts. Life hurts.
I’ve missed your poems these last 4 days – that’s sad really.

What a nice thing to say that you missed my poems, PJ, actually missed them— that blew me away. I’ll even out the bad stuff with some good stuff: I feel a nice streak coming on =)
