Chronicles Of Millie and Me Chapter 2

The last things I saw before the end were the new marvelous diesel engine prototypes on display at the town square and seeing some remaining soldiers returning from overseas after such the ending of such a horrid war. Some of them looked as if their souls had been ripped out of their bodies. Their eyes seemed to have lost all wonderment. Such eyes displaying a sadness and torment I surely would never know. I wanted to help them do anything to perhaps brighten their spirits, but the time for me was short and it was getting late in the afternoon.

It was quickly approaching the evening now. With candles in hand I hurried home coughing as I went not realizing how my time had grown ever so short as well. I could see my home just bit further in the distance. But my my breathing had gotten so bad I could barely walk. I was starting to feel so very faint. Then suddenly I felt my self fall in slow motion and into obsidian darkness. When I awoke everything I ever knew was about to change.
