Exam Ponderings

I wrung my fingers through my hands. Stats wass almost over even though I had finished half an hour ago, so I thought about what my brain had told me.
I can’t be gay, I thought. I’d have realised by now.

Heather wasn’t in the exam. She had dropped me off, though, because my car had sat in the hospital car park too long and had been clamped. It made me think clearly. It was only a couple of weeks until Summer where I’d be working non-stop so I could easily avoid both of them until we returned to school, but first I’d have to tell Jake.

“Stats students, please put your pens down.”
The Chemistry students on the other side of the hall kept furiously scribbling. I was close to the front of the register so was let out of the Hall last, and temporarily thoughts of Jake left my head as I routinely tapped my pencil and waited to be let out, concentrating on how annoying it was.

I was finally dismissed and started to chat with Connor about how easy it was when his eyes narrowed and he grabbed my hand.
