Hunter: A Cold Reunion

“Aline?” I gasped again, turning around to stare at the figurine that stood behind Mack. Aline smiled coldly, stepping forward, shoving Mack out of the way. He snapped at her, but she dismissed him for me. I stared at her, gold eyes narrowing and growing into cold ice as she moved forward. Ms. Perfect, an even five ten, always perfect with the pounds no matter what. Of course, my weight fluctuated but did remain lower than hers, to my great pride. I backed away until my tail hit the mirror, and then still tried to back. She smiled again, cold heart-shattering gray eyes staring me down. After a second of this Jason pulled her back by the shoulder, and Mack slid between me and her.

“You know her, Carlie?”

I sighed, nodding. “She’s my sister. The one who left when I was ten.” Mack looked over his shoulder and nodded, and Jason kept pulling Aline back by her shoulder. Throwing her out of the room, I heard her hiss but he slammed the door on her. Turning back to me, he said, “Did you know she was a vampire?”
