The two men faced off, slowly circling each other like strange dogs, both interested in getting, not giving, information.

Bill had frozen waiting for some kind of sign. He was a good security chief, a little too bureaucratic, but good non-the-less. It would be a shame to lose him as collatoral damage. The Ashen Warlord nodded curtly to his aid, who scrambled away, before turning to his attention to the strange figure in front of him.

“Who the hell are you?”

Maxi sighed. The trouble with going after the dictators of small areas is that they never knew who he was. It was infuriating. “My name is Maxi, better known as the Red Knight. I am a man of the people- and your reign of terror ends today!”

The Ashen Warlord allowed himself a smile, it had been a long time since he had had a real challenge. The last one had been that one girl’s brother- Rodrigo, his name had been…

“Why do you have so many swords? You only have the two hands.” He sneered.

Maxi flushed. “I’m giving you a single chance to surrender.”

I think it’s a shame that you went from ‘dogs’ to ‘wolves’ – I think it would have been much more interesting to do it the other way. Warriors get compared to wolves all the time, but if you’d went with dogs you could have compared one to a terrier and the other to a bulldog, or otherwise emphasised their differences.

Sanlorian has a good point. Plus, wolves are seen as noble fighters, dogs, more down and dirty fighting. Loved the story regardless. ‘Why do you have so many swords? You only have the two hands.’ – hilarious []o)

Yeah, I definately prefer ‘dogs’ as a description, plus it shows something more base about it.

I also love the line Sir Bic picked out. It’s a very nice line :)
