Sit There, Still and Quiet Now

A quick and dirty poem -

Sit there, still and quiet now
I’ll help you make it through
We’ve been together for so long
It’s the least I could do

I’m here for you when boredom strikes
To kill the hours away
No reason to go exercise
Or see the light of day

At times you wonder, “What a waste!”
You think you’ll turn me black
But then you realize that takes work
I continue to attack

“Attack?”, you think, "but you’re my friend
Who’s always there for me”
Did I say ‘attack’? I meant attract
Now tell me, where were we?

Just sit there, silly and subdued
I’ve always more to show
Don’t fret your brain will be just fine
You just go with the flow

Sit there, still and quiet now
I’ll help you make it through
We’ve been together for so long
It’s the least I could do
