Ice Cold

She screamed loudly, running in the snowstorm. Arabella couldn’t hear anything over the loud howling of the wind. Her blonde hair whipped around crazily as the coldness of outside bit at her face. The girl’s boots slipped on the icy ground as she continued to run. She screamed for help once more, frozen tears on her cheeks. The girl sobbed wildly.

“Oh god no, please please please let this be a dream.” she managed to pray in German. Her chapped lips silently moved after she looked behind her to see her pursuers following at a lurch. Suddenly she tripped over a fallen branch. A muffled cry of pain escaped before she could stop herself. Arabella clutched her twisted ankle, flinching from the white-hot fire that rushed throughout her leg. “NO!

Cold hands curved around her arms, tugging at her violently. Arabella kicked out and she tried to escape her attackers’ grips. They snarled, their grey faces standing out in the blizzard of snow. One bit into her arm, not letting go. A scream faintly echoed.
