inch open eyes
the hazelnut milk walls
salute me
another day in suburbia
swing out of bed
pad along on the thin slice of carpet
soaking up my feet
as i reach the bathroom
remove my clothes
sticky polyester top
scented with the odour of a sleepless night
jump in.
cool. crisp. nippy.
trailing smoothly over
coarse skin
refreshing in the fluroscent lights
dry off
shaking my skin loose
with a magenta wedge of 100% cotton
chuck on my monochrome uniform
sloppily muddled:
the euphoria of the school life
substance is next
an inhaled bowl of sugary goodness in a puddle of
milk
washed down with a tall glass of pure
caffine.
open the door
sun streaming into squinted faces
turn back, hope for salvation
a horn cries.
a new day has begun.
unfortunately.
