He was wearing yellow pajamas
And a smile.

I hadn’t seen a smile in a while,
To say nothing of
Pajamas
…which looked warm.

Yellow warm. Cotton warm.
Warm as an embrace
On a rainy Sunday morning
With the dawn just peeking in.

My heart beat count was higher
Than the thread count
Of his sheet.

And my face was getting hotter
Than the sunlight
On our feet.

But he smiled
And I smiled
And the sun smiled too,
To say nothing of
Pajamas
So bright I had to blink.

There are some nice touches in this poem – the heart rate faster than the thread count, the sun smiling too and pajamas so bright you have to blink were my favourites.
