Twenty-twelve;part two.

He looked up at the stars, apparently in deep thought. Then he smiled and put his arm around me.
“For a girl, you’re pretty alright.”
I tried to fight back my smile, “Oh, wow, thanks. For a jerk,” I faked punched him," you’re pretty alright too."
“I reckon you’re right.” he said, after a while.
“About what?”
“I guess it’s best if we don’t know when we die.” he said, pushing a small log into the fire with his boot.
So we sat there, under the glow of the stars, until we both fell asleep.
