All The Stars In The Sky Can Be Mistaken For Planes

The theory behind roller coasters
lies within the concept of gravity:
How what goes up must
ultimately come down
and how friction
(both literally and metaphorically)
exists in the realm of
our every movement.
I once mentioned (to a friend)
that I was on a roller coaster
that only goes up.
He (the friend) noted
that eventually, my coaster would
hit space,
and my face would be torn clean
from my brittle bones
and my ripped skin would turn blue
and my eyes would pop out of my sockets
and I wouldn’t even realize what was happening
because I would already
be
dead.

A horrifying thought to my new
optimism.
(We both nodded in agreement.)
