Gone so long, darlin'

It had been months. But it felt like years.

Six was finally coming home. Tex had fought tooth and nail to get her home, and had won. He now leaned on a wall, heart racing, icy eyes injected with nervousness as he awaited his love. The warm summer rain calmed his frayed nerves ever so slightly. Rain was always nice. It washed away mistakes made, pain caused, lives taken… It was a rebirth. The commander let out an annoyed groan, shifting weight from his left leg to his right. What could possibly be taking so long?

That’s when she appeared.

Long red hair blazing through dismal weather, she seemed an angle among such hard times. Simultaneously, the two ran to each other. Six leaped into Tex’s strong arms, and their lips met in a wild frenzy. After a few minutes, they finally broke away from the embrace.

“I’ve missed you so much, Tex…” Spoke Six, her voice soft and tinted with Irish accents.

“It’s been to long… I’m so glad you’re Okay…”

And for what seemed forever, the embraced in the rain.
