A Soldier and His Wife.

Death lies on her, like an untimely frost
upon the sweetest flower in all the field.

Under the grey clouds, a storm brews
and I’ve finally let go of my shield.

What was once an army of men,
lies amongst the Flowers.

The night draws in,
I’ve fallen weak,
and drained of all my power.
