Johnny stared at the woman. She stared back. He could see the bone in her face- every single one of them. He was glued to the floor. He could not move a muscle in his body. She seemed to be able to read his thoughts. Her icy, cold, pale blue eyes got larger, her retina seemed to be white and there was a milky wash over them. He could hear her voice in his head, she seemed to be speaking in tongues. Johnny could not move, could not scream, he could even think! As soon as it happened is as soon as it went. She was gone. Johnny did not sleep that night.
Morning came in what seemed like 15 minutes, luckily it was not a school night. Susan, Johnny, and their parents were sitting at the breakfast table. Silent clung in the air like a leech clung to a bleeding wound. Even the air was heavy. No one had slept in the last 7 to 9 hours. “I was some one, Mama,” Johnny said. His mother looked at him with concern, then she smiled. “It was probably your sister or me, silly.” “No it wasn’t Mama.”……
