Maidens Of The Sands: Glazed Sweets

They twisted and turned through the streets, admiring the shop windows as they got into the ritzier and more opulent parts of the city. Xafira stopped at a street vendor and bought a bag of glazed sweets, giving Asia a dirty look when Asia cocked an eyebrow with suspicion. Xafira continued listening about the plays that were showed last weekend and when they turned a corner, Xafira paused by a group of small children huddled by a side of a stone building.

“Wait.” Xafira muttered as she approached the children.

The children slowly stood up, some with rocks in hands & others with a variety of claws, talons, & hooks protruding from their hands & feet. Xafira arched an eyebrow, hidden under her lime green bangs, with a slight shake of her head and a small smirk.

“Hey kids. Want to have some fun? Some sweets for you all if you can distract the guards by the mural wall.”

One dirty boy covered in fur, probably a dog mix, asked, “What if they chase us?”

Xafira snorted, “You know the streets better than anyone.”
