Detention

“You’re quiet the brave little morsel, aren’t you?”

You smile sheepishly, “So I’m told.” Doctor Lydia Denton gives a small laugh, rolling molten chocolate eyes towards the cold ceiling. “Or just unbelievably stupid. You do know who you’re going to be dealing with, don’t you?” She looks at you from the edge of her glasses, crossing her arms. You swallow. Yes… you think to yourself. I know who he is. Dr. Denton snorts in laughter, “Well, I hope you know what you’re doing. He’s… scary.” She shudders. You do the same. Hearing another psych doctor telling you someone is “scary” is enough to unnerve you completely. Your kind doesn’t label people scary unless they have a perfectly good reason for it.

When you reach his door, she stops you. She stands in front of the plate metal door, staring down with cautious eyes. “Any questions before we throw you to the lion?”

“What happened to his last psychiatrist?”

She chuckles wryly, “Oh, nothing much.,” she says. You sigh.

“Just suicide.”
