Let’s put our enmity aside
Share some coffee, say good night

Sit in the shadows here with me
It’s something like we used to be

We used to sit like this together
Bitch about work and the weather

Sometimes you would take my hand,
Squeeze it tight. You were my friend.

Well, I don’t know what happened, dear
Thought it was fine, but now I fear
It’s coming up to half a year

Ah, does it have to stay like this?
We used to hug, we used to kiss
Sometimes. There’s plenty that I miss

I thought you liked that friendship, too
Well did you think I’m over you?
Or that I hate you? That I’ll never do
Or maybe—can we start anew?

… (To be continued)

This was a really nice piece, I felt good inside after reading it. Was kind of an inner monologue I had.
