L is for Love Without Judgment

Perry sucked on the straw, her cheeks bowing inward, until she was rewarded with a mouthful of creamy peanut butter. Satisfied, she settled back against the tree, her eyes bright.

Gem frowned around a mouthful of fries. “I don’t know how you can drink that.”

“What? Peanut-butter milkshakes are the best!”

“Ugh. Just watching you makes me want to brush my teeth again.”

“Like your garlic fries are any better. I mean they destroy your breath. No kisses for you.”

Gem leaped to her feet, dumping Mr. Jacobs, the hamster into the grass and exposing her long legs in the process. “RAWR! Taste my vengeance Tiny Japanese Girl!”

“OH NOES! GODZIRRA!?” Perry threw a hand against her forehead and pretended to faint.

“Die, die, die!” Gem roared, stomping around.

Perry rolled over on to her side. “Do you think we’re weird?”

Gem stopped in mid stomp and quirked an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”

“Look at them.” Perry said pointing to a couple strolling around the lake. “We’re so not them.”

“Eh, we’re more fun. RAWR!”
