The image;
the number.

Long ago;
completely fixated,
permanently burned,
on his retina display,
in his mind.

He wanted
‘more time’.

Time;
to spend with his children.

Time;
to visit a park.

More time;
to laugh,
to play,
to live.

He spent his days;
working late,
working hard.

    I get it, but why would the program isolate him? It just seems like a cruel fate here..

    How interesting. I’ve read this a few times now but I’m not sure I understand the ending. However, I found the images in the first part were easy for me to capture and make sense of even though they were brief which I found quite impressive. I also enjoyed the switch from a disjointed flow of images to a more stream of consciousness use of language. It was easy to tell the two apart and not just because of the italics.

    Seems familiar. Is this a repost? I’m not a huge fan of the programming code as prose, but I get the idea.

    Yes, Doc, it’s a repost. However, this is supposed to be ‘programming code’ as poetry, not prose. When I wrote it I felt as Homer may have felt penning his Odyssey! I thought it to be inspiring, epic even. Nevertheless, ‘tis a failure. (oh well, if at first you don’t succeed… :)

    Not sure quite what to make of it, but:

    Shaggy dog;
    >wet
    >ruffled
    >motionless
    >>unaltered

    I think, could stand on its own.
