Life's a Game

Victor stared out of the window absently. What was he doing with his life? He had been stuck in this job for almost ten years, and where had it gotten him? He barely earned enough money to pay the rent, and what little had left, he squandered at the casino. What was he living for?

He drew a pair of dice from his pocket and held them up to the sunlight. Maybe it was time he started taking more risks. He was as good as dead anyway; he may as well go out with a bang.

Victor took his chance when he noticed his boss inspecting the cubicle opposite his. If it rolls on a number higher than five, he thought, I’ll finally teach that bastard a lesson. He threw the dice onto the desk, and rolled a five and a six. He grinned, then stood up and crept behind his boss.

‘So, what are your plans tonight?’ Said the boss to a petite woman who was trying to get on with her work. He slobbered as he looked upon her with a greedy expression.

Victor placed a tight grip on his shoulder, and spun him around.
