The Jumper

I was a man, and now I am nothing.

For every wormhole I’ve ever traveled through, another tragic realization reaches my senses by the arrival of “the end.”

Another friend, dead millennia in the past. Another love, missing in the fabric of space and time. The reality of eons passed in the span of a few eventful seconds. The moment of honesty which could only pass through the mind of a man on the fringe of sanity. The most honest thought anyone has ever had in this universe… I am completely and utterly alone.

Why I was chosen to bear this position is still a mystery to me. To my knowledge, there was nothing spectacular about my core being. Nothing which would denote me as a candidate for such an eccentric existence.

What set me apart was my interception of time. The unfortunate meeting of myself and the center fulcrum of technological advancement. I was a man once. An unnoticed man, but a man nonetheless.
