And then they’ll bring up the x-ray sights and see me chasing through the hall, but already will they be positioned inside the building and I’ll be gone. And by then the acetylene torches will be brought up the nuclear guns to bring me down will be drawn. And after all is said, more will come, because they never have enough to say. They’ll bring up magma hoses and wax walls and the toxic magnesium vents and the mercury beams while they’re at it!

Fast as my thought and quick as my wit, I’m already gone alongside the opposite edge of the ivory tower, climbing once more and swifter than before. As is the human will’s train of thought. Concentration is neat but difficult to sustain. I swing out the window back onto the beautiful tower. But I mustn’t be entranced. I focus and climb on.
