A Brief History, Part 4 [Magic Theory, Pt. 13]

After Choryl’s declaration of war, his army flooded into the city, wreaking destruction and devastation wherever they could, taking glee in their brutality. The apprentices and masters were forced out of the town, trying to seek safety, and many lost their lives. The mages were forced to seek solace in the wilderness, where they lived for many years.

Choryl and his army had come to power, and reigned over the land with fear and intimidation as their allies. They promoted the charm trade, but taxed the people heavily, destroying any who would resist them. Many people tried to rise against them, but inevitably they fell, and their lives were harvested, strengthening the Kirva.

The mages in the wilderness named themselves Lendrii, meaning “students.” They devoted their time to growing their knowledge and understanding of their magical power in the hopes of someday returning to overthrow the Kirvan army.

This time was known as the Age of Darkness.
