Reading certain song lyrics doesn’t always compare well to hearing them sung in a song. Sometimes lyrics will seem pedestrian on the page, then when you hear them belted out to the right music, they come to life.

Challenge: write rhythmically enough to transcend the page. Force the reader to feel what you’re saying. I want undeniable inflection, dramatic pauses, and passion without a single bold letter or italic word. Make it a song, a spoken word poem, a slam, or do it in a way that’s uniquely your own.
