Eenie Meenie Miney Moe...
Sometimes (actually, more like regularly) I’m stumped as to what to write for a piece. Often I’ll use this technique, or a variation of it, and it is fun.
Go to your bookshelf, your pile of books, or wherever it is you keep them, and choose a book (hence the name of this challenge). It may be a favourite, or it may be totally random (random is always good).
Turn to page 41
If the first sentence on the page continues from the previous page, don’t count it, then count to the fifth sentence on the page, and hopefully it won’t be a very long one.
Usually I use this as the opening sentence of a piece. You can do that for this challenge. Or you can simply include it in the piece. Or I’ll even let you use that one sentence as inspiration for your piece, but it would be better to use it somewhere if you can.
Due to the length of these pieces, if it is a long sentence, you may wish to choose another book.
Call it what you like. Title and author of the book in the tags, please.
