Taking out the trash
So, I was dragging the trash cans to the curb last night, and I started thinking about “taking out the trash” as a euphemism in film noir detective stories and the like. It’s kind of a cliché at this point.
To satisfy this challenge, write a story that invents a new implied meaning for or novel situation involving “taking out the trash” that doesn’t directly involve death or violence.
Bonus points for metaphoric fedoras.
