Imagine a remote wilderness of some sort (e.g. an island), and imagine that this wilderness is inhabited by one or more supernatural beings who like to lure unwary humans into some sort of trap and do something magical to them.

Now, I don’t want you to write a story that’s set in that wilderness and features those supernatural beings as characters. Instead, I want you to write an excerpt from some sort of non-fictional publication or document that refers to them. For example, it could be an excerpt from a travellers’ guide, advising tourists on what to see and/or avoid whilst visiting the wilderness.

Postscript: My recently-published mature story “Vampire Women” (Ficly number 6666) gives one example of what it might mean to lure unwary humans and do something magical to them. I have no problem in principle with entries that are mature or even downright kinky, but stories you could read to your children are equally welcome, of course.
