Take a trip with me through the gates of brutality into the world of Metal.

The challenge here is to write a story (or a poem, or even an entire song!) that is totally, utterly Metal. Think Tolkien, or Lewis, or Howard. Think God of War or Shadow of the Colossus. Think Beowulf and Conan. Think of those things, and then make them darker and more brutal.

How brutal is brutal, you ask? Blood, gore, thunder, fire, swords, axes, death, hatred, revenge, gods, even rape. These things and more go into the making of Metal. As an example, a decent metal story might involve a man traveling across mountains and seas and deserts to avenge the cannibalistic sacrifice of his village or the unholy destruction of his kingdom. The important thing here is that there be much death and hatred and such.

Basically, this is a chance to explore dark and terrifying side of fantasy you don’t see in mainstream stuff.

Go forth. Fill your hearts with hate and fill this challenge with brutality.
