One of the simplest yet most important ways to create a tone in a story is the weather. If something bad is happening there might be rain or a terrible thunder storm. If something is good there might be sun, if its a mystery the character could be shrouded in fog.

My challenge to you is to write a story where the weather CONDRADICTS what is happening to the subject of the story.
