The Federal Bureau of Investigation has a special department called the Highway Serial Killings Initiative. There’s an article about it on the L.A. Times website.

According to the article and the FBI officials quoted within, there are as many as five hundred murders along the interstate corridors which cross the states. Many of them occurring on Interstate 40, the old route 66, which crosses the US from coast to coast. The agent quoted in the article suspects that the number is under-reported and could possibly be much higher. These murders are suspected to be the work of a number of at-large serial killers who are employed as long-haul truckers.

For this challenge, I would like you to spin a little piece of fiction about this situation. You can write about one of the deranged killers, a victim, a cop, an FBI agent, or any character with ties to the killings.
