Torture of the child martyr: ‘Rebel’, 13, shot, kneecapped and had genitals removed before being killed by Syria’s sadistic regime.

This horrible news was broadcast worldwide yesterday, and Hamza himself has become a symbol for revolution in Syria, where the government frequently tortures dissidents. Hamza was found near a protest against the regime and is the youngest known victim of Syrian torture.

“The teenager’s family were told not to speak of his terrible fate. But in a pitiful act of defiance, they posted the footage of his corpse online. The action led to his father being arrested last week. His whereabouts are unknown.”

The challenge, is to write a story with this in mine. It could be of martyrdom, or of childhood being stripped, but write a story with the memory of Hamza Ali al-Khateeb locked inside.
